Cal. 25-20. S# 984845. Bbl. 24 1/4". Model 92 lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1927. Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard factory markings denoting the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with blued steel buttplate. Wood furniture appears to have been lightly sanded and refinished at one time. Dovetailed Lyman brass beaded blade front sight with slot blank in rear dovetail, and receiver mounted Lyman No. 56 adj. aperture rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain good to large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting flaking and wear on the receiver that is fading to gray patina, with light pitting present in the aforementioned area. Remaining metal components exhibit some light to mild wear fading to gray patina, showing some superficial handling marks and spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (25-4746/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
